About the Trailer Sailer Centre

The Trailer Sailer Centre was established over 4 years ago at Northney Marina in the beautiful setting of Chichester Harbour.  In 2007 Rupert Hewson took over ownership and management of the business and is currently expanding the site into a centre for boat sales, rental and chandlery.  Rupert  has a wealth of experience in sailing, from dinghies through to yacht management.  'We specialise in New and secondhand Trailer Sailers and Family Dinghies. We have a good range of new demonstration boats on site to ‘try and buy’. These are carefully chosen to offer a range of good quality styles and sizes of boats.'

All our secondhand boats  may be test sailed with one of our experienced skippers at your convenience.

Brokerage

Boats may be sold on behalf of the owner on a brokerage basis and the appropriate fee charged.

Collection/delivery

Where necessary we can arrange collection or delivery of boats to help you and this will be charged at the appropriate rate per mile. Collection/Delivery can also be arranged at hours to suit the customer and we have a selection of trailers to suit a wide variety of boat if yours is unavailable or inappropriate.

Workshop

Our fully equipped workshop enables us to prepare, service and maintain our boats and those of our customers. A popular service is the “Winter Refurb” for those who have neither the space, facilities nor inclination to give their boat its end of season overhaul and a fixed price quote will be given to the customer for this. Our onsite 2 Ton hoist enables us to work on boats and fit them to trailers in the best possible way. ( We work closely with Hayling Trailers to ensure a 'good' fit).  Anti-fouling – polishing – painting - varnishing – electrical work and instrumentation – rigging and engine servicing, are all available from us.

Facilities

The Trailer Sailer Centre offers unlimited tea and coffee (and sometimes chocolate biscuits!) to our visitors. We are situated a few yards from the main Northney marina centre which offers exceptional toilet and shower facilities, together with a small shop offering cold drinks, ice creams etc. A large car park is available upon arrival.

Opening hours

We are generally open Tuesday to Saturday 9.30-6, Sunday 10-6. Other times may be agreed by appointment, particularly weekday evenings. In addition times will vary earlier or later to suit tidal conditions and seasons. Winter hours will finish at dusk.

Appointments

We encourage our customers to telephone in advance and make an appointment as this enables us to spend worthwhile time with you looking at boats and trying boats out and avoids frustrating congestion and rush at the Centre.
